I ensured that every part of my home is well ventilated and reduced the moisture by using humidifier.

I also learned that you can use non-porous materials or tiles on your bathroom instead of a carpet.

After using towels and bath mats, you should dry them immediately after use. It is important to sanitize them using vinegar and hot cycle regularly.

Never keep any damp item on the carpet for a long period as it can lead to formation of moisture and hence mold growth.

Step 1

Wear protective gear. You need to have gloves, face mask, goggles and protective clothing. Ensure that your body is well covered while removing the mold from the carpet.

Step 2

Ensure that the house is well ventilated. When you’re cleaning the carpet, keep the doors closed so that mold spores do not move to other rooms. Ensure the windows are open so that spores will get out from the room.

Step 3

If it is possible for you to remove the carpet outside, do it and clean it while outside. You can either use a vacuum cleaner or blower.

Step 4

Alternatively, you can use a good brush that has string bristles and removes as much mold debris as possible. Ensure that it is fully cleaned and there is no more molds. Allow the carpet to remain in the sun for some hours then take it to the house.
